“Katongo Bwalya, PhD is a Physical Education and Sport Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Zambia and the Co-Chairperson of the National Organisation for Women in Sport, Physical Activity, and Recreation (NOWSPAR). In both her public and private sector work, Katongo’s focus is on physical education and sport for development, especially for girls and women. She has been actively involved in the delivery of various sports leadership programmes through her engagement with National Sports Council of Zambia, National Olympic Committee of Zambia, African Union Sports Council Region 5(AUSC5), TAFISA and the International Council for Sports Science and Physical Education (ICSSPES) where she currently is an Executive Board Member. Her research interests are sport for development, physical education curriculum development and Zambian indigenous games.”
